Carlisle, Iowa  - "The Natural Choice"  

The purpose of the foundation is to support and encourage programs and organizations that enhance education, community betterment, arts and culture, health, and human services. The foundation will award grants equal to 5% of its assets on an annual basis. Grant applications will be solicited from local groups and organizations, and will be evaluated based on guidelines developed by the foundation.

2009 Grant Recipients:  

  • Carlisle Area Historical Society received a check in the amount of $500.00 toward the purchase of a security system and smoke detectors in the Randleman House.
  • The Lynn Memorial Park Restoration Committee was awarded $600.00 to be used toward the purchase of new playground equipment for the city park.
  • Carlisle Public Library accepted a $400.00 check to purchase books as incentive awards for the Summer Reading Program.

Contributions are being solicited from businesses and individuals in the area to help non-profit community projects in the Greater Carlisle Area.   You may contact any other member of the Board to arrange for a donation or to discuss any questions that you might have about the Endowment projects.  The primary focus of the foundation will be on developing planned giving, such as estate bequests, charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder trusts. The board members of the Foundation and several other citizens throughout the community have agreed to serve on various committees of the Board.
